What changes do I need to tell my home insurance provider about?
In addition to personal details, you need to notify your insurer if:
- you intend to let or sub-let your home
- the tenant type at the home changes
- your home is used for business purposes other than clerical work
- you intend to use your home for any reason other than private residential purposes
- your home becomes unoccupied
- you become bankrupt
- you are convicted of a criminal offence other than driving offences
- the occupancy of the home changes
- the contents, valuables or personal possessions sum insured changes
- the full rebuilding cost of your home changes and if you plan to do works to the Buildings such extensions etc.

In addition to personal details, you need to notify your insurer about any changes affecting your risk and premium. Timings like modifications, upgrades or changing the car entirely as well as changes to drivers, how you use your car as these may impact your cover and premium.

It is the policyholders responsibility to ensure that all the information provided to the insurer accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge and belief.
Insurance may be cancelled, claims may be rejected or not fully paid if incorrect information is provided or if relevant changes haven't been communicated.

How do I add/remove an additional policyholder to my home insurance?

How do I add a driver onto my policy?
To add a driver to your car insurance policy, you can call our team Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm - 0800 678 1465. The insurer will need the following details about the additional driver:
- Full name and date of birth
- Address
- Employment details
- Driving licence details
- Any medical conditions or motor related claims/offences
Note that adding an additional driver can sometimes bring down the cost of your insurance price, depending on their driving experience.
Can I pause my car insurance policy?
Unfortunately, not. As car insurance is required by law, it is not possible to legally put cover on hold however you can cancel at any time if:
- You no longer have a car
- You have a SORN in place
- You have already purchased insurance elsewhere
How do I cancel my insurance policy?
If you need to cancel your policy, simply call our team and we will walk you through the process.You can call our team Monday - Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm - 0800 678 1465.
If you cancel 14 days after taking out your policy or 14 days after receiving your policy docs, whichever one is later; there may be a cancellation fee.
Note that car insurance is a legal requirement. So if you’re using your car on public roads, you must have insurance.
